Initial Intake Assessment

An intake assessment is necessary to assist counselors in being able to provide the best care possible. It involves asking questions to gather relevant background information to create a collaborative, personalized treatment plan that focuses on individual needs. This process includes understanding the client’s concerns, symptoms, goals for therapy, identify the need for referrals to other mental health professionals or resources, and identifying any immediate safety risks or crises (suicidal ideations, self-injurious behaviors, abuse, trauma, or substance abuse).

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a one-on-one mental health session where clients and therapists are able to work collaboratively towards goals identified during the intake assessment. Clients and therapists will work together to develop skills and abilities that promote healthy decision-making, self-awareness, emotion regulation, and coping with challenging situations.

We work with a large range of concerns, which includes but is not limited to, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, work issues, daily life issues, work-life balance, and grief/trauma.

Modalities of Therapy Used: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Support Group Therapy

***COMING SOON***

Support group therapy is a gathering of people facing similar issues to share their experiences. A support group offers a safe space that offers assistance, encouragement, and comfort to each other through shared experiences. Clients will be able to learn about different ways to cope with their problems and hearing from others facing related challenges can help others to not feel alone during troubling times.

Support groups at Dragonfly Counseling are weekly open groups. Open groups are when members are able to join and leave group at any time. All support groups will be led by a licensed mental health professional.
